When Cyndy’s girlfriend invites her to Women’s Week in Provincetown, Massachusetts, all she expects is a fun time with other women and lots of great bedroom time with Tristan. And the home they rent with Tristan’s twin and her girlfriend is a dream. But you never know what to expect when your girlfriend is not only incredibly sexy, but also amazingly adventurous. This is one vacation that Cyndy will never forget. Cheri Crystal has written a short story that eloquently captures the depth of relationship between Cyndy and Tristan. The two main characters are a reasonably new couple and have a lot to learn about each other, and the reader learns right along with them. She doesn’t make the mistake of buttonholing her characters in their butch and femme roles, but allows them to be the full people that they are. The backdrop of all the activities of Women’s Week was also cool.

This is truly an erotic romance, and I particularly liked that the descriptions of the sexual activity between the characters starts out slowly, while we get to know Cyndy and Tristan, and builds to a more intimate (and adventurous) level as the story progresses. I always like to read about people who truly care about each other, and it doesn’t hurt that they also majorly turn each other on.

Glowing Review for Attractions of the Heart

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

Cheri Crystal’s first anthology is written and produced with great spirit. A collection of 18 stories each one with its own picture page introduction making this edition a must for collectors of erotic fiction. Well-formed characters tell of their intent as they lead us to their goal with a fun yet determined tone.

Crystal’s flair is consistent throughout the book. Her tales are varied and slip easily into each sex scene. No shadows in here. It is all good open sex and there is something for everyone including: love stories like “Lobster Box,” fun with toys in “Tina in Toyland,” group sex in “Me Too,” voyeurism in “Dogging,” desire in “Gone Fishing” and much more. I found Attractions of the Heart to be a great value. ~Review by Willis as seen on the www.loveyoudivine.com site

Best Friends Don’t F*ck

What better way to relax after an exhausting year than on an exotic island in the Caribbean? Cate has an idea about what would make it better for her but best friend Joy doesn’t seem to agree. Fate seems to step in as the two manage to spend a lot of time wearing off sexual frustration rather than giving in to the lust that seems to simmer.

Cheri Crystal pens a cute tale that proves men aren’t the only ones who can spend all of their time thinking of sex. Cate’s preoccupation drives the story. Joy has rules about what best friends can do together and sex isn’t one of those things she thinks is a healthy way to build their relationship. But rules have a way of being broken when circumstances happen that send them flying out the window. The women both work hard to fight off the inevitable but Cate has a little Buddy that helps to lead them in another direction. This is a cute, well done story no matter what your sexual preference may be.

Edna Rubenstein is a matchmaker on a mission to find her dietician coworker Laurie a mate. Not even the fact that Laurie likes girls can stop her. Leslie, daughter of one of her card playing friends seems perfect. The first time the two girls talk it feels like Edna has done her job well.

Cheri Crystal mixes some excellent ethnic humor and a little slapstick into this romance to make it one of the best books she’s penned. The girls try to take their time getting to know one another but with love at first sight it’s difficult for them both to hold back. Ms. Crystal seems to take her time developing the characters into people we can relate to and like. The humor of several situations along with some free motherly advice that many of us have heard from our own moms helps bring a smile to our face as we read. Each book she writes seems to get better as this author hones her craft to help make it top of the line female eroticism.

Mile High Dare

Cheri Crystal
Erotic fiction
Available from loveyoudivine
ISBN: 978-1-60054-354-8
April 2009

Julie intends to get some reading done on her flight from London to New York. Her seat mate may just make her rethink her plans. Instead of the usual obnoxious person to aggravate her, she’s faced with Samantha a woman who gets all her hormones raging. Julie’s favorite erotic author seems to pique Sam’s interest too as she soon finds the woman reading along with her.

Cheri Crystal pens another erotic tale of women in lust. Each time she writes she seems to come up with some new toy or accoutrement to enhance the pleasure the two partners find in one another. This time her young and not-so-young lovers get to join the mile high club in a sexy episode that almost sounds possible the way the author writes it. At least for those who wear a size two. For the rest of us it’s a fantasy at best. Ms. Crystal diversifies her characters in the books well, never falling into the stereotype that some may have of lesbians. This time we have an Oxford University grad student and a high level business executive in a tantalizing tale.

Trucking

Cheri Crystal
Erotic fiction
Available from Love You Divine
ISBN: 978-1-60054-293-0
May 2009

Sam and Gwen have been partners for a long time. Sam’s job as a trucker helps to pay the bills but there isn’t enough left over to buy Gwen the anniversary present she wants to give her. To make extra money she takes on more jobs hauling anything she can over the road in her eighteen wheeler to save money. The time apart is hard on them. Instead of pouting about it Gwen devises a surprise that knocks Sam’s socks off with its ingenuity.

Cheri Crystal continues to pen some erotic and innovative tales of women in love. Sam not only has a masculine name and profession, she seems to plan like one of her male counterparts too. Gwen with her more feminine type job as a waitress could sit back and let her frustration over Sam’s choices fester like many spouses would do. Instead she’s proactive and plans an exotic gift to satisfy all of Sam’s fantasies. Ms. Crystal gives us a well done story that helps both women realize independently and together what really matters in a relationship.

May 2009

The pages of erotic fiction come alive in more ways than one when a writer of erotic fiction falls in love with the work of another. As the work comes alive for her as none has before, she takes a chance in contacting Angel, the writer she adores. Through the internet the two become acquainted, share ideas and become even more attracted to one another. The Lambda Literary Foundation awards proves to be the place for both to meet and act on their feelings.

Cheri Crystal pens a novel that’s like reading what many fans would like to see happen with their writing idols in erotic fiction. The writer is one of the lucky ones who takes a chance on writing fan mail that piques the interest of the author she adores. We never find out the writer’s name unless Ms. Crystal is making this an autobiographical type of story! Whether or not she is, the story is well crafted and the eroticism is hot no matter what your gender preference may be.

My Sister’s Keeper, by Jodi Picoult, is a heart-rending family saga. The story revolves around a moral dilemma: is it ethical to conceive one child for the sole purpose of saving another? Gravely ill, Kate was a toddler when she was diagnosed with a progressive form of leukemia. In a last ditch effort to save their beloved child, Sara and Brian Fitzgerald conceive a biologically engineered daughter for her umbilical cord, tissues, blood, and ultimately an organ. Anna literally becomes her sister’s keeper for as long as she’s alive. When it comes to donating her kidney to her dying sister, Anna seeks legal representation for the freedom to make her own medical decisions. Anna’s courage holds the family together while at the same time tearing them apart.

Let me preface this by saying that I’m not a big fan of romance, and I have limited knowledge of f/f stories. I usually take my fiction like my coffee–cream, no sugar. However, Cheri Crystal’s Lobster Box, a funny, charming short story about a Jewish lesbian who finds that someone special through her meddling matchmaker, made me think twice about passing up sweet, romantic f/f stories in the future.

Crystal’s witty dialogue, humourous prose, and erotic descriptions had me hooked from start to finish. I fell in love with the endearing narrator Laurie’s realistic take on the lesbian dating scene. The dynamic between the two main characters was compelling, and sexy, and above all, honest. Lobster Box was truly a pleasure to read.

If I were to criticize any point of this story, I would say that the denouement was a little too hurried for my taste. Frankly, I didn’t want to story to end yet! I think Lobster Box has great potential to someday turn into a longer story, as the characters were well-developed, the prose was user-friendly, and above all, the subject matter was interesting. I’m curious to see what Cheri Crystal will come up with next!

Bottom line: even if f/f stories aren’t necessarily your main kink, it would be remiss not to give Crystal’s enchanting Lobster Box a read!

Keeping Up with Hornelia: A woman with an attraction…and much to her surprise and delight, the object of her affection responds positively.  They get it on, and spend time getting to know one another (a rare occurrence with erotica!)  This story from Cheri Crystal is more than erotica, though.  It is founded in reality and is laced with a true love-story in its short, entertaining span.

Travel through a budding relationship, the flowering of a couple-in-love who enjoy sex with one another (really enjoy it!), then read about what happens when life starts to get in the way and one of the couple starts to doubt her own loveliness.  Two people, identified to us only by their nicknames for one another, Hornelia and Studly.  Will they continue to be for each other what their names imply?  This story has everything, real life, romance and hot sex.  Read it and be entertained.  Read it and shake your head in agreement.  Read it and appreciate Cheri Crystal’s way with words!

Coffee Time Romance

Allison remembers the first time she ever met her husband. She was at the Harvard Law library and their eyes met across the crowded room.
Now years later, Ben still loves his wife as much if not more than he did then.
With an almost perfect life, he knows the one thing that could perfect it would be a child of their own.
After three years without birth control and countless trips for fertility, Ben and Allison’s love life has gotten quite stale and repetitive. Until the day Allison finds out about Taharat HaMishpachah, a ritual that is recognized through their Jewish beliefs as being a sure way to conceive. With this in mind, Allison begins to prepare her body with the weeklong ritual that may not lead to a baby but makes the anticipation that much stronger as well as the attraction between husband and wife.
Coming Clean tells the story of a couple struggling to conceive a child and still maintain a healthy and happy relationship. The strain it puts on Ben and Allison is very realistic and believable. I was very saddened by the emotional roller coaster that Allison experiences because of her inability to produce a child. Ben is such a romantic guy and understands his wife’s emotional struggle; it makes him such a perfect character for the story. In addition, the sex scenes are scorching and the ending will make any reader smile from ear to ear. How could any readers not find themselves enthralled by Ms. Crystal’s writing?
