I had often relived her sixteenth birthday party, and here on her wedding day, I couldn’t help but go there again. Without mercy, my mind played tricks on me and brought me back to that night. I placed my lips on hers, not fully registering the noise surrounding us, forgetting what and where I was and why I was doing this in front of our friends. I expected a platonic peck, but she had a better idea. Our first kiss was laced with a lingering caramel nougat flavor and had a sweetness all its own. I can still taste it.
Every cell in my body was on alert from that electrified embrace. She grabbed my head and pulled me close, so that I could feel her breasts, hipbones, and torso. I got carried away, and so did she. The cheering sounded distant and muffled. I felt every lick and suck as if it was happening to my crotch. I couldn’t help the way my entire body responded. I didn’t stop her. April pulled away first, looked at me for a second, and then turned to our gang. She curtseyed. It was all a show to her. She gloated like we’d just pulled off the greatest prank. I fled without looking back. We never talked about what happened that night.

What better way to relax after an exhausting year than on an exotic island in the Caribbean? Cate has an idea about what would make it better for her but best friend Joy doesn’t seem to agree. Fate seems to step in as the two manage to spend a lot of time wearing off sexual frustration rather than giving in to the lust that seems to simmer.
Cheri Crystal pens a cute tale that proves men aren’t the only ones who can spend all of their time thinking of sex. Cate’s preoccupation drives the story. Joy has rules about what best friends can do together and sex isn’t one of those things she thinks is a healthy way to build their relationship. But rules have a way of being broken when circumstances happen that send them flying out the window. The women both work hard to fight off the inevitable but Cate has a little Buddy that helps to lead them in another direction. This is a cute, well done story no matter what your sexual preference may be.

| Edna Rubenstein is a matchmaker on a mission to find her dietician coworker Laurie a mate. Not even the fact that Laurie likes girls can stop her. Leslie, daughter of one of her card playing friends seems perfect. The first time the two girls talk it feels like Edna has done her job well.
Cheri Crystal mixes some excellent ethnic humor and a little slapstick into this romance to make it one of the best books she’s penned. The girls try to take their time getting to know one another but with love at first sight it’s difficult for them both to hold back. Ms. Crystal seems to take her time developing the characters into people we can relate to and like. The humor of several situations along with some free motherly advice that many of us have heard from our own moms helps bring a smile to our face as we read.
